The First Paul

Paul is second only to Jesus in the history of Christianity, and yet he continues to be controversial, even among Christians. He has been used to explain absolute grace and also to endorse oppression, slavery and subordinate women.  Will the real Paul please stand up?  In this 8 week class starting in the new year, we will use Crossan and Borg's text, The First Paul, to examine the seven genuine letters of Paul, the three disputed letters, and the three inauthentic letters.  If you've ever wanted to spend time understanding the Paul of the new testament, this class is for you. 

Class begins Sunday, January 31, 2010 and runs to March 28, 2010. This adult education series temporarily replaces Awakening and takes place in the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
